Yarraman – Gateway between the South Burnett and South East Queensland

Nestled in the junction of the New England and the D’Aguilar Highways, Yarraman is a picturesque country village with a rich heritage and population of around 1000 people.

The towns name, Yarraman, translates from the Aboriginal word for ‘horse’ and holds significant historical value to the town and district. In the 1870’s, local graziers from surrounding areas would come to the ‘Yarraman Waterhole’, where they would meet and trade cattle at the local muster.

Located just two hours from Brisbane and surrounded by hoop pine plantations, national parks, fertile farmlands, and scenic mountains and trails, including the Bunya Mountains and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Yarraman is the perfect place to explore the South Burnett and Eastern Downs regions.
